‘Waiting for’ is an investigation around the connection between the movements of the human body and how machines interpret this movement into the digital space.
The work is a live projection installation using multiple sensors and software to track peoples movement through a space.
The artwork projects a live feed of the movement captured in the space onto a two side display hanging in the room.
Seeing how machines interpret the movement of the human body, how they convert this visual data into projected visuals can help us understand how our actions in the real world, such as movement, can have an effect on the digital landscape around us.
The projected visuals are a mix between pre-record videos of movement in the space and a live feed of audience members captured moving in the space.
The sound in the work is a sound piece created for the artwork using software to create a every changing ambient drone.
